How to Fix: Windows 10 Setup is unable to install boot-critical drivers

How to Fix and Repair Computer Errors and Problems

If you cannot install Windows 10, 8 or 7 from an USB boot stick or from your old Windows and you have an UEFI BIOS then you can try the following:

  1. Go to your BIOS settings and set the storage boot to UEFI first or UEFI instead of BIOS legacy.
  2. Try to boot from the USB stick and install Windows.
  3. If it still does not work and you have more than 1 SATA drive then open your PC and unplug all your SATA cables and leave just the one with the drive on which do you want to install Windows.
  4. Try to boot from the USB stick and install Windows, if it works then you can plug the SATA cables back to your other drives after you have installed Windows.
